With sharp mountain peaks on one side and thickly forested plains on the other, Carrara Island rises majestically from the Pacific Ocean.

Like all worthy places of interest, there are a great many stories to tell about this island. But what good is a story without some characters to meet and greet? Exactly, not very interesting at all! Well, this island happens to be inhabited by a group of characters almost as remarkable as the island itself, and with the word “remarkable” in the sentence, you know something exciting is bound to happen. They are the Pecanpals and as much as I would love to introduce them all to you now, it is far better for you to find out yourself.

The above extract was taken from the website go there and check out all of the characters and cute artwork.

Pecanpals rule!

Out and About With Blythe

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

It was such a lovely day today that we decided to go out and about with our new shop girl today. Our first stop was the local cheese shop and as you can see Blythe decided to check out the  fine chocolates and did not want to leave.

We had a great time sight seeing in the sunshine together and thought it was about time we gave  her a name.

If anyone has any name suggestions we would love to hear from you.

You can check out all of the photos from our day here –

ToysField Kuma and Usagi

Monday, March 7th, 2011

I think I’ve fallen in love! Kuma  and Usagi  are sweet retro looking bears and bunnies by ToysField. Sadly they are produced by Takara Tomy in Japan and not currently available outside of Asia.

These ball jointed sweeties measure 25cm and can stand on their own. There is also a smaller 10cm Kuma that is a perfect companion for your Blythe.

We hear Takara are currently looking for European distributors so we wait in hope.

Professor Layton The Movie

Sunday, March 6th, 2011

We play a lot of games here at Chicki and one that has had us hooked is Professor Layton. Usualy films based on video games tend to be pretty pants but Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva was very entertaining indeed.

The story line was rather ridiculous but we like that plus it looked awesome.

There are some super moments in this film. We loved the scene when Layton makes a makeshift helicopter (very A-team).

So if you ever get any spare time we rate this as a must see film.

Layton creators Level 5 recently teamed up with Studio Ghibli to make a new video game called Ni No Kuni pictured below. Trailers for the game look pretty amazing and we are eagerly awaiting it’s release.
