My favourite Studio Ghibli movie is Howl’s Moving Castle. I love it so much! Like every other film by studio Ghibli the art work is amazing, and the soundtrack is beautiful. It was the first movie by studio Ghibli I came across and as such remains my favourite. The story line is engaging and has child like wonder now I am unable to find in any of the modern Walt Disney films. I love the choice of Christian Bale as Howl and Billy Crystal as Calcifier. I have to say I perfer the English version than the Japanese version. For no other reason than when I want to watch the movie I feel reading subtitles takes away some of the fun from the movie.
I do love studio Ghibli and all of their creations. But Howl’s Moving Castle is my favourite. Though Princess Monoke and Spirited Away come a close second and third.

My favourite Studio Ghibli film is definitely ‘My Neighbour Totoro’. I will never tire of the rainy bus-stop scene. Who wouldn’t want to meet a magical forest spirit and go for a ride on Catbus? This film is magical, artistic and beautifully written. Since watching it, i’ve fallen in love with the characters. I can’t help looking out my window hoping Totoro will leave me some magical acorns to follow too…

My favourite Studio Ghibli film is Spirited Away. The breadth of the characters, locations and the attention to detail mean that i always spot somthing new each time! Like the JiJi cushion in Bo’s room, bet you’ve never noticed that! I just love the story, with the classic good and evil theme, mixed up with magic, giant babies and the gold giving monster. This was my first Ghibli film and i remember seeing it just before I saw Howls moving castle at the cinema and fell in love with everything Miyazaki has ever done, I’m so glad that he won the oscar for this film!

Now that i own every Ghibli film, i still find myself coming back to this one over and over, truly a masterpiece and probably the best animated film ever made.

It’s so hard to pick a favourite Ghibli film as they all have something special. I particularly have a soft spot for Laputa as that holds great memories for me as a child. I love Nausica but it makes me so sad.I was also blown away by the new film Ponyo. They are all visualy stunning and have such truly wonderful stories.I can’t pick a favourite.

Aw, cute wallet! It’a impossible to pick a favourite Ghibli film but the one I watch most often is Whisper of the Heart. It’s so sweet and has all these little side plots (and the Baron from The Cat Returns) that I always find something new to love about it. Mostly I love the everyday-ness of it; Ghibli films are often filled with the strange and wonderful but Whisper of the Heart is so ordinary and Japanese and yet so special :)

My favorite Studio Ghibli film is definitely Spirited Away, with its strange creatures and ominous atmosphere. When I watched it for the first time, I was instantly captivated by Chihiro’s plight. Also, I don’t think this movie is for children, since it has many underlying symbols and themes (the environment, criticism of greed).

It is the Ghibli studio that first sparked my interest in all things kawaii. Each film has it’s own super cute characters: from Jiji the cat in Kiki’s delivery service to the spooky bobble head sprites in Princess Mononoke. My favourite creation is Spirited away, for me it has the most attention to detail as each character has been lovingly crafted with its own personality – those little soot characters are so simple but make me dissolve into a puddle of cute every time I watch the film.

Choosing a favorite…that is difficult! It’s a tie between My Neighbor Totoro and Howl’s Moving Castle. I recently read the book of Howl’s Moving Castle and loved it just as much. My family and I watch both of these over and over again and never tire of them. We have even introduced my son’s 2nd grade class to Studio Ghibli films. He brought in Ponyo as his choice for Movie Friday. When I walked in to pick my son up from school the whole class was quiet and glued to the screen. Studio Ghibli has that effect on you! The teacher came up and said “What is this movie, it’s incredible”? So I mentioned a few of our favorites for her to check out!

Ponyo is definately my new favourite from ghibli. it used to be howels moving castle, but ponyo is definately the cutest so far, and the animation is awesome! i like the themetune almost as much as panda go panda!. it’s my ringtone :P

i want my own ponyo :( i’ve watched it about 10 time already ^_^

My favourite is definitely Princess Mononoke- the haunting music, beautiful creatures and tragic storyline makes it an absolute favourite. Also, the enviromental element to the storyline gives the viewer food for thought. Plus, the time period it’s supposedly set in is really interesting.
I even have the soundtracks on my iPod, teehee!

Oh my… my family’s favorite is Totoro. We’ve watched the movie and read the manga several times. My personal favorite is either Howl’s Moving Castle or Totoro or Nausicaä. (eep! I can’t decide!)

I’m going with my favourite being Princess Mononoke. The backgrounds and animation of the woodland animals are unreal!
However, if we’re going purely on the kawaii factor, I would have to say Totoro would rate through the roof!!!

  13. My favorite is Porco Rosso, there’s something about it that feels so different from the other films :3 and I love the pirates! It’s one of those movies where you laugh as hard as you cry and I can’t watch it too many times!

My Favourite Studio Ghibli film would have to be Spirited Away as i feel its a timeless classic that never gets old, the best part i would think would be when they meet Yubaba’s sister as she is so kind.

So hard to choose favourite Ghibli film!! The art work, the characters, each film is so memorable and thought provoking from Nausicca, to Princess Mononoke, to Pom Poko, the list goes on!! I love them all, and show this as I have cosplayed Mononoke, Howl, and The Baron, with many more characters on my list. To choose an absoloute favourite, I do have to go for My Neighbour Totoro, purely that the storyline is so magical, the characters so wonderful. It’s a film, which my Mum, and my boyfrined (who don’t like anime) will both sit down and watch it with me, and enjoy it, and I think that says alot about a film. Also I love the way that the animators have captured the essence of childhood through, the animation and character portrayel. Mei trying to take the corn on the cob to her mother as ahe believes it will cure her, we all know of a situation where a child gets an idea into there head. Thats what I love the most, the realism mixed with the magic of the spirit world.
The last deciding factor, have you seen the Totoros?? so cute, who wouldn’t want a hug!!
If only the Catbus would come and pick me up!!

My favourite movie by Ghibli Studio would be SPIRITED AWAY – of course! Spirited away is one of those film that is truely unique and magical, it makes me want to be Chihiro (the main character). Spirited away cannot be better told than the movie. There wasn’t even one second when I was bored or questioned myself “why did I even pick this movie?”. Spirited away is a captivating and genius movie.
    I LOVE SPIRITED AWAY !!!!!!!

So hard to choose a favorite but Totoro is definitely right up there maybe tied with the cat returns. But I think my favorite character from all the films are the Totoros!

My favourite studio ghibli film has to be Howls moving castle simply because it combines an element of fantasy with reality. When your watching the movie you feel like in some part of the world there might be something mystical and unknown there. The characters are so vivid and complex whilst everyone can identify with sophie who feels ordinary in comparison to others. I have to say all of Studio Ghibli’s films cheer me up when ive had a really bad day and always put a smile on my face. My neighbour totoro reminds me every time i watch it to keep a little bit of my inner child there all the time and to never lose it.

My favorite is Mononoke Hime, it’s just…gorgeous. The story, the art, the music! Ahhh
Of course I love all Miyazaki movies. (:
Though I have to say my least favorite is Howl’s Moving Castle because the plot makes no sense at the end lol. But up until the end it’s a good watch.

I like Whisper of the Heart, the Cat Returns and My Neighbor Totoro. Among the three, I’ll pick my favorite according to my mood at the time.
Today it’s My neighbor Totoro. This never gets old.

It’s very hard to choose :D I saw Ponyo a few weeks ago, it was sooooo magical, but I’m still trying to make sense of it! My overall favorite is Laputa Castle in the Sky, it has such a strong sense of love, friendship and adventure. It has wonderful characters like Dolan and her boys, the evil madman Muska, and of course the gentle Sheeta & headstrong Pazu. There is fantastic airships, flying cities, sky pirates, flying robots, amazing views of the world below and above, fast flying action, explosions, stormy weather, car, train & airship chases and as always good triumphing over evil where the beautiful world of Laputa lives on out of reach high above. It’s a wonderful engaging film, you enter a fantastic world of Miyazaki genius imagination where there are nearly always marvelous flying machines, breathtaking animation and yummy looking fried eggs hehe :D

My favourite is Spirited Away. I just love the non-stop insanity of it. There’s not 5 minutes goes by in that film without the bounds of dream-logic being pushed into a new dimension. At the same time it manages to stay really human and touching, and it has a really positive message that comes through and inspires without being heavy-handed. I also like how there’s no real antaganist per se, because all the characters, even the nastiest ones, have vulnerable and cute sides. Unbeatable film <3

My favourite Studio Ghibli film is Howls moving castle, i love the fact that love can conquer all and i love the magical aspects of the film, throwing you into a magical land full of wonderful people, and showing so much depth to the main character Sophie, that regardless of how she looks or acts she is still someone to love and becomes a stronger person. The spells and secrets had me enraptured! I love so many ghiblis but that was just one spell binding story that had me gripped!

I love all the Studio Ghibli films, but my favourite has to be My Neighbour Totoro! It was the thing that first got me into kawaii, and is still one of my favourite films. The Totoros are probably the cutest creatures ever! The storyline is simple but it always holds your interest, and it is generally amazing!
